For Everything There is a Season
For everything there is a season… This popular scripture holds many truths to it. Much like the altering weather outside, our lives are full of, and built on various seasons that God has called us forth into. As autumn adjusts into winter, and winter into the bloom of spring, our lives possess many similarities to the elements outside. Sometimes life can feel like the drought of summer, where happiness can get sucked into the cracks of heartache. Or on the contrary, our personal seasons can be brought back to revival by the freshness of spring time rain. The Bible reminds us that there is a season and a time for everything……good or bad.
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
For some, change is a daunting thought. Stepping into the unknown is never an easy thing to do, but God is calling you into a new season and seeks to pour His richest blessings over you, to surround you with His love if we only step out in faith. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you , plans to give you a hope and a future,” (Jeremiah 29:11). He also reminds us, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you or forsake you,” (Deuteronomy 31:6). As we take on this new route, He is consistent in never deserting us. Seasons are also a beneficial way for God to teach us things that we may have never appreciated before. This can be patience, love, forgiveness, etc.
As we step out into a new season we can be sure of two things: The passage of time, and the steadfast love of our heavenly Father. Both are essential in living a life that God has planned for us, for God has prepared the perfect timing and season for everything. Time is precious. What you plan to do with it unlocks God’s purpose, and plans for your life.
And so, we leave you with this word...
“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps,” (Proverbs 16:9).
