The Point of Perspective

Perspective: A particular attitude toward or way of regarding something. Also referred to as point of view.

Our interpretation of reality has the ability to affect the way in which we approach certain scenarios in our lives. The way we speak, and what we choose to hear give evidence of the mindset we have already selected to let take control and manifest in our lives – good or bad. This is a choice and conscious effort. Altering the way we approach life by defining or making conclusions, can set us up for a life filled with peace and joy or a life that is destined for anxiety and fear.

Certain problems and conditions often get us thinking of the way things “should be.” They may refer to a principle rooted in morality, rather than the way things, “could be,” which gives the problem a chance to be led by Christ’s heart’s intent. As we live out the transformation and renewal of our minds, we understand God’s love and inherit His identity.

Going back to the original Greek word for “perspective,” (phronimos) it is interesting to note that its origin also stems from the word “wisdom.” In scripture, the outlook that is directed toward Christ is considered good judgement, therefore, having a view that is shaped into the perspective of the Father in a larger frame of reference is considered wise. Jesus was a good example of this before entering into the events of the cross because He understood the need that had to be met that stretched beyond His present attitude. Scripture also tells us, “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace,” (Romans 8:5-6). The focal point must always be to chase after God’s will and righteousness to gain a deeper more well-rounded view on the Solution that always overrides the problem.

And so, we leave you with this word,

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
