Celebrating Sin.

As the name suggests, we have become a culture that just loves to normalize sin at a pace that is stronger than ever. Things that were deemed controversial in the past have crept into our lives so well that it’s trying to rewrite the definition of morality. Why? We have lost our standard of right and wrong. Sin is sly, but at the end of the day, its definition doesn’t change. Sin is sin no matter how comfortable or easily praised it has become amongst our society.

Are you celebrating sin?

How do we combat this disease that is ransacking our culture? We have to ask ourselves, are we sitting at the sidelines and watching our friends and family make decisions that are counter God’s word? We can make the passive mistake in thinking that being tolerable, bearable or complacent is virtuous. After all, it’s way easier to accommodate someone’s feelings then call them out on a lifestyle that does not resonate with God. It keeps both parties pretty comfortable.

This normalized sin that is causing massive confusion and depression among society will eventually bury itself though. Even if people do not realize it yet, truth will always be exposed and in the same way, expose the sin. When rhetoric is not founded on God’s truth, it has no choice but to collapse on itself; it has no ground work or basis of anything as it is not a sustainable life and always leads to more and more confusion. It’s easy to evaluate if someone is divulged into a lifestyle that is counter Christ by observing the fruit of this person. Anxiety, depression, low self esteem, confusion and avoidance are good indicators but are not limited to.

It is not your responsibility to bring conviction or bring people to repentance - only God can do that. We, however can be this catalyst of change to get the movement moving. Not everyone will be accepting of God’s truth as it can make a sinful life uncomfortable and embarrassing - all good signs that God is doing what He needs to do.

Forgiveness is free friends, and it’s never too late to change your life.

And so, we leave you with this Word,

“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God,” (Galatians 5:19-21).
