Coming To the Place To Count It All Joy
Have you been shaken up?
This place and sometimes the people within in, have a strange way of poaching our peace, our resistance to anxiety, and overall reliance on God and the promises He has called upon our lives.
This place can
- Shake us
- Break us
- Forsake us
- Leave us
- Betray us
- Grieve us
- Anger us
It’s a reality we all face. Is good thinking gone? Are good people gone? Are good outcomes gone? Is hope gone? Is the good gone?
In these moments, WHO are we depending on? WHO do we trust? WHO is constant and steadfast?
Steadfast.
In the original Greek, steadfast is referred to as being “solidly-based; well-seated; morally fixed; well stationed; not given to fluctuation or moving off course.”
The reality of being steadfast, is that many will claim to be, but many will not live out this life changing word. Do not base your decisions, expectations, your hope, and your disappointment on others failed circumstances. Rely on the ONE who is unwavering and morally upright.
The Bible says,
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him,” James 1:12.
There is no time to be moved by circumstance. There is no time to be shaken and there is certainly no time to shift our weight in ungodly places. Stay firm and stay steadfast!
So, whether this place has had the ability to uproot your life and steer you off course, know that even the strongest of trees bend and break sometimes.
Friend, let’s not just show up, but let’s come to THE PLACE of consistency no matter how shaky the terrain becomes.
And so, we leave you with this word,
“Count it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing,” James 1:2-4.
