Going, Going, Gone...Wisdom

Going, Going, Gone…Wisdom.

Is the deteriorating of wisdom a slow motion crash course waiting to happen? In short…yes!

Many think they have wisdom, but do they really? How do you measure wisdom and walk with the wise? Are people slipping away from true wisdom?

The word wisdom comes from the greek word Sophia (shout out if that’s your name), and means insight or skill.

There is no accountability when one assumes they are wise without God in their life. It simply does not work. Only God offers true wisdom that outweighs any kind of direction or purpose this world can offer. Scripture tells us,

“For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding,” (Proverbs 2:6).

It also tells us,

“See to it no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ,” (Colossians 2:8).

There is a lot of noise out there to tease out and it can be difficult to filter what is truly sound knowledge. Walking with the wise takes tenacity, focus and confidence and is usually not found in a crowd full of people. For wisdom is usually alone and undervalued and perhaps seen as foolish to some. Wisdom is both a blessing and a curse. Don’t be fooled though, true wisdom is a rarity and is a precious jewel that should be protected and once you have it your life will never be the same. Your life will be guided in the utmost straight path when God is at the forefront. Confusion and fear have no more room to reside.

And so, we leave you with this Word,

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock,” (Matthew 7:24).
