I Don't Feel Like It Anymore

Salt of the Earth.

City on a hill.

Light in the darkness.

Living stones.

That’s a heavy resume to carry isn’t it? What if we don’t feel it though?

What if all of these words on sticky notes we have on the fridge, or the highlighted versus in our Bibles, or our screensavers are just that. Words.

After all, we can’t just simply chant this stuff over and over and hope it will somehow reshape our lives.

How do we really let these things penetrate into our lives and show up to a dying world?

To remain qualified in any given job, you must understand the specific skillsets required for that job. Much like our life with Christ, we must be able to understand the reality of our identity in Him and apply this reality to the world around us. Sometimes when things aren’t going right in our own lives, we can make an excuse that somehow God and His promises aren’t legitimate or we somehow become less qualified if what we believe doesn’t match how we feel on a particular day or given moment. This is a lie and prevents us from moving forward. Living out our identity in Christ requires a change in behaviour and thought, and a constant commitment to see and choose things differently. Things of the past no longer dwell in you. Let’s rise up and step into this new life and walk in this tangible change.

This place needs hope more than ever before, folks. This place also needs more God fearing citizens to demonstrate the love of God to this world.

So regardless of how you feel, or what your past was like, you already have the job! It’s time to apply what’s already in you. You are qualified. You are made new. You are made whole. You are redeemed.

Stay encouraged, stay stealthy, stay vigilant. Keep your mind clear of the tricks and lies of this world has the capability of feeding you.

And so, we leave you with this Word,

“I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations,” (Isaiah 42:6).
