No Change.
Have you ever been in a situation that just won’t seem to move on your behalf?
It’s one of those things you pray for, hope for, and fight for but still no shift. Not even a budge. Times like these are discouraging and can turn some people away or off of Christianity all together. Why bother praying when everything just stays the same?
It’s an honest question that I am sure we have all asked ourselves at one point or another - Christian or not. We all want to justify God’s love for us by our own fulfilled requests from Him.
Friends, by no means does scripture point to a walk-in the park lifestyle that we all of a sudden inherit when we choose to walk with God. In fact, we must constantly train ourselves to remain patient and in prayer in times of affliction.
Waiting is hard. Waiting is difficult. Waiting tests our character.
Who are we becoming when we wait? Are we becoming more bitter, self loathing and discouraged? Or do we know that God hears our cry and is working all things out despite the heartache we feel or see?
Finding rest through faith takes a degree of trust and a reassurance of things that have not happened yet. So often we fool ourselves that no change means denied. What if no change is actually changing us? It changes our motive, our perspective, and even who we understand God to be. He hears you and is making a way. That will never change!
Let’s approach our stagnant seasons with a heart that is grateful for what has happened, and joy for what is to come.
And so, we leave you with this Word,
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God,” (Philippians 4:6).
