Waves Are For Surfing

Waves are for surfing.

Waves are for the ocean.

Life has a unique way of demonstrating pendulum - like circumstances to all of us. One minute our lives are moving vividly with stamina and momentum. Next thing you know, everything feels locked, broken or too far-gone. Does God still see me within these circumstances?

When we are faced with moments of discouragement, defeat, happiness or joy, our faith and hope in Christ must remain linear. Faith does not change based on circumstance. In fact, circumstance is the element we need in order for faith to grow and remain steadfast. We mustn't forget that when things are going good, God is good, and when things are not so good, God is still good!

Scripture reminds us, especially in the book of James that the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

God is still good even if you find yourself staring down a casket at the funeral of a loved one that you prayed for.

He is also still good when you receive the job promotion of your dreams.

If we want to experience the the new life Christ’s resurrection offers us, we must also be willing to experience the cross if life demands it.

Your happiness and joy are not dependant on what’s going on in your life - good or bad.

Waves are for surfing. Faith is for the expectant.

And so, we leave you with this Word,

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain,” 1 Corinthians 15:58.
